Are you a QTS DT Teacher looking for a new and rewarding opportunity to teach small groups of students with special educational needs? This amazing school, with state‑of‑the‑art facilities, is looking to add an experienced DT Teacher to the team to teach Design & Technology to small classes of Key Stage 3 & 4 students with moderate learning needs including Autism, MLD, Down’s Syndrome, and communication impairments.

This welcoming school has a supportive leadership team, and staff work together to ensure the best outcomes for all students. This role requires a QTS DT Teacher with a patient and empathetic approach. Previous experience teaching in a SEND setting is desirable but not essential, as additional training will be provided. This DT Teacher opportunity will give you the freedom to plan engaging lessons tailored to the needs of your students and encourage you to be highly creative. Job Role

  • Teaching Design & Technology to small classes of pupils with SEND
  • Planning and delivering practical, engaging and differentiated lessons
  • Adapting the curriculum to meet a range of additional learning needs
  • Creating a safe, structured and inclusive workshop environment
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff
  • Monitoring progress and supporting pupils’ personal and academic development

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND (desirable)
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A patient, flexible and creative approach
