Salary: Varied – pay is dependent on experience, with the higher end offered to teachers with greater experience.
We are working with a nurturing, trauma‑informed SEMH school in Northumberland that is seeking a Qualified Maths Teacher (QTS essential) to join their committed and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can deliver Maths in creative, flexible and relational ways, helping pupils re‑engage with learning and build confidence.
Role Responsibilities
- Teach Maths across a small number of pupils with SEMH needs
- Adapt and personalise learning to meet a wide range of abilities
- Build strong, positive relationships using trauma‑informed and restorative approaches
- Create a predictable, safe and supportive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider multidisciplinary team
What We’re Looking For
- QTS (essential) – Maths specialism or strong experience teaching Maths
- Experience in SEMH, PRU or alternative provision is beneficial but not essential
- Ability to differentiate work and deliver engaging, hands‑on lessons
- A resilient, patient and emotionally intelligent approach
- Someone who wants to make a meaningful difference to young people
