The Education Network are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Nurture Teacher to work within a specialist provision in the Sunderland area. This is a long-term opportunity, working with secondary aged pupils who are working below expected levels for their age.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students both academically and emotionally, creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that helps pupils build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday
  • Working hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm
  • Early finish on Fridays: 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Long-term placement
  • Teaching secondary-aged students with additional learning and emotional needs
  • Delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning levels
  • Supporting pupils with engagement, behaviour and emotional regulation

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience working within SEN, nurture groups, alternative provision or behavioural settings is desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach
  • Ability to differentiate learning for students working below age-related expectations
