Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Pay: £95 per day

About the Role:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming specialist school in Gateshead. This role involves supporting children within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) who have a range of special educational needs. You will play a key role in helping pupils access learning, develop social skills, and build confidence in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and personal development
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting back to staff as required

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (preferred)
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young learners
