Location: Gateshead. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm. Pay: £120-£160 per day (depending on experience and qualifications).

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a welcoming specialist school in Gateshead. This role involves working with children within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 (KS1) who have a range of special educational needs. You will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons, supporting pupils' individual needs, and creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs
  • Support pupils' communication, emotional development, and social skills
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for supporting young learners
