The Education Network is working in partnership with a school based in the Gateshead area that are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join their team in September 2026.

Role overview

You wouldn't be expected to plan, prepare or teach anything, you would be expected to cover lessons in the absence of a teacher and ensure the class are staying on task with their work, managing the classroom and helping the students with their work as and when you can.

Responsibilities

  • Cover lessons in the absence of a teacher.
  • Ensure the class stays on task with their work.
  • Manage the classroom and support students with their work as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with children/young people within the past 2 years with a professional reference.
  • Have a valid fully enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or a willingness to apply for one.
  • Passionate about education and helping North East children reach their full potential.

The advertisement viewed stated a rate of pay of £100 - £120 per day; however this depends on qualifications and experience.
