The Primary Teaching Assistant will work alongside teachers and SEND staff to deliver interventions, support learning and help pupils develop confidence and independence. Previous experience as a Primary Teaching Assistant or working with pupils with SEND is highly desirable. The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will be patient, nurturing and confident building positive relationships with children.

Job Role

  • Working as a Primary Teaching Assistant within the school's SEND Hub.
  • Providing individual and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
  • Supporting pupils to access the primary curriculum.
  • Delivering targeted interventions and learning activities.
  • Working closely with class teachers and SEND staff.
  • Supporting pupils with their individual learning and development targets.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment.
