Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children who face barriers to learning? Do you have the patience and commitment needed to help pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs succeed in education? This specialist setting in Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide both 1-2-1 and small group support for pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils with SEMH needs both in and out of the classroom. You will help students remain engaged with learning, develop positive behaviours and build the confidence needed to succeed at school. This is a rewarding role where strong relationships and consistent support can make a genuine difference to young people who may have struggled in mainstream education. This Teaching Assistant role requires previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or Special Educational Needs.
Job Role:
- Providing 1-2-1 support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Supporting small groups of students within lessons
- Helping pupils manage behaviour and remain engaged with learning
