SEN Teacher – Full Time – Primary or Secondary.

Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher looking for a deeply rewarding role within a supportive specialist setting? This exceptional special school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join their team, delivering high-quality teaching to pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, communication differences, and complex learning needs.

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a central role in pupils\’ academic, social, and emotional development. You will plan and deliver personalised, well-structured lessons, work closely with Learning Support Assistants, contribute to multi‑disciplinary discussions, and ensure every pupil feels safe, supported, and valued. This role is ideal for an SEN Teacher who is committed to adapting practice, building positive relationships, and promoting progress for pupils with diverse needs.

Job Role

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils\’ individual strengths and needs
  • Monitoring, assessing, and recording pupil progress, feeding into EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Creating a safe, consistent, and nurturing classroom environment where pupils can thrive
  • Leading and guiding Learning Support Assistants within the classroom
  • Contributing to multidisciplinary meetings and working with external professionals
  • Preparing reports, contributing to reviews, and maintaining accurate records
  • Managing behaviour effectively and promoting emotional regulation and positive routines
  • Supporting pupils through personalised behaviour plans, risk assessments, and pupil profiles
  • Taking part in whole‑school activities, meetings, training, and professional development
  • Working collaboratively with the SENCO, senior leaders, and pastoral staff to ensure coordinated support

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND (Autism, SEMH, MLD, or complex needs)
  • Strong communication, organisational, and classroom‑management skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and child‑centred education
  • The ability to adapt teaching for different learning styles and developmental needs
  • A warm, resilient, and flexible approach when supporting vulnerable learners
