The Role:

  • Teach a class of pupils within a specialist SEND setting
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated and personalized lessons
  • Adapt the curriculum to meet individual learning needs
  • Support pupils' academic, social, emotional and personal development
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and other specialist professionals
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP outcomes
  • Create a positive, structured and engaging learning environment
  • Promote independence, communication and confidence

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within either primary, secondary or specialist education
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEND
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • A patient, creative and adaptable approach
  • Previous SEND experience would be advantageous but is not essential
