We are recruiting on behalf of a highly supportive specialist school in Birmingham for an outstanding SEND Teacher to work with students with a range of needs including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Complex Needs and communication needs. The Role: As a SEND Teacher, you will lead a class of students with additional needs, delivering highly personalised learning tailored to EHCP outcomes and individual development goals. You will create a safe, engaging and nurturing classroom environment that supports students academically, socially and emotionally while helping them build independence, confidence and life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging personalised lessons
- Adapt teaching to meet a range of SEND including Autism, SLD and complex needs
- Set individual learning targets linked to EHCP outcomes
- Support communication, literacy, numeracy, emotional regulation and independence
- Track progress and implement interventions where needed
- Lead and deploy Teaching Assistants effectively within the classroom
- Build strong relationships with pupils, families and external professionals
- Prepare and lead annual review / EHCP meetings
- Promote positive behaviour and safeguarding at all times
- Contribute to the wider life and development of the school
We Are Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, Autism, SLD, SEMH or complex needs desirable
- Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- A creative, adaptable and child-centred teaching approach
- Commitment to inclusive education and pupil progress
- Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
