The Role
Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving excellence in teaching and learning, and ensuring every pupil reaches their full potential. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development and implementation of an ambitious, inclusive curriculum
- Driving improvements in teaching, learning, literacy and student outcomes
- Monitoring and evaluating the quality of education through robust quality assurance processes
- Coaching, mentoring and developing teaching and support staff
- Supporting safeguarding, wellbeing and positive behaviour across the school
- Leading school improvement initiatives and contributing to strategic planning
- Building strong partnerships with families, external agencies and the wider community
- Deputising for the Headteacher when required
About You
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient leader who can inspire others and create a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement. You will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Successful teaching and leadership experience within education
- Previous Assistant Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher experience
- Lead teaching and learning across a school or phase
- A strong understanding of SEND and inclusive educational practice
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Experience of coaching and developing colleagues
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- The ability to lead with integrity, compassion and determination
- Experience within a specialist or SEND setting is highly desirable.
