We are looking for suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic Business Studies lecturers to join the academic team at The Education Group London (TEG) to teach on a range of undergraduate business modules at the London campus of our partner university in the Docklands area of East London (East India DLR).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, student-centric teaching & learning sessions (lectures, seminars, workshops, etc.) across a range of academic skills, digital/computer skills and business-related modules at undergraduate level (Level 4 RQF / Level 7 SCQF). This role involves face-to-face teaching on campus in London Docklands, not remote/online teaching.
  • Provide timely academic support, feedback, marking and associated admin in relation to student assessment, including personalised support for student assessment resubmissions.
  • Provide a highly supportive learning environment and create a positive and inclusive educational experience for all students, many of whom are from non-traditional pathways and/or for whom English may not be their first language.
  • Assist current staff in curriculum/module development through the design and creation of inclusive teaching & learning materials.
  • Participate in staff training and development, academic standardisation and QA activities.
  • Where suitably qualified, invigilate and assess applicants to the University’s undergraduate programmes in the on-campus English-language screening process.

Person Specification

  • Essential
  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject area.
  • For applicants interested in teaching the business modules: strong knowledge of subject area and proven track record of teaching business-related subjects (business studies, marketing, accounting & finance) in UK HE/FE sector at undergraduate level (min. Level 4 RQF / Level 7 SCQF).
  • Strong proficiency in IT/digital skills, particularly in relation to use of e-resources and VLEs.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • Desirable
    • Relevant teaching qualification at Level 4 (RQF), or above.
    • Experience of teaching and supporting students from non-traditional pathways.
    • Experience of teaching/supporting students in relation to employability and career development.
    • Experience of curriculum/module design and development, including creating/developing engaging teaching & learning and assessment materials.

The Education Group works as a service partner of the University of the West of Scotland in support of the University’s London Campus. This partnership includes marketing and student admissions-related activities, development and management of agents, and academic delivery of several pre-sessional English, foundation and undergraduate programmes.

    Details

    • Contract type: Initially, fixed term to August 2026 (with potential to extend or move to a permanent contract).
    • Hourly rate: £40 per teaching contact hour, inclusive of formative and summative assessment marking activities / £35 per hour for non-teaching activities.
    • Location: London Docklands (East India DLR).
