Howden Junior School are looking for an individual who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of pupils to join our friendly and dedicated team of Teaching Assistants who play a vital role in supporting and assisting the teaching, learning and care of pupils within our school. The working hours are up to 31.25 per week during the school term, Monday to Friday, plus an additional 31.25 hours. The post holder will also support with lunchtime supervision of the pupils. Your actual salary will be £18,855.87 per annum, paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties so they can effectively access the school curriculum.
- Work with individuals or small groups of pupils.
- Assist in identified areas, e.g. language, behaviour, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation, the use of ICT, social skills and EAL.
- Meet the physical needs of pupils as required whilst encouraging independence.
- Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO about individual needs.
- Develop appropriate resources to support the pupil(s).

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who is compassionate, engaging, versatile and committed to ensuring every individual child receives the care, support and guidance they need to thrive and be the best they can be. The successful applicant will have good literacy and numeracy skills, a level 2, ELSA qualification or equivalent and the ability to work collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision.
