We are currently recruiting for a chef to join the morning kitchen team within our private members club. Within this role you will be involved in making and serving fresh items daily including homemade breads, sourdoughs, pastries, cereals, building our breakfast buffet, cooking breakfasts to order and creating daily specials all with the finest of local and Scottish produce. This position would suit someone that has experience of good quality restaurant cooking and requires nights off without compromising on personal standards or career momentum.

The starting base salary for this position is from £32,000 dependent on experience in a similar kind of role or one that employs similar skills, with 33 days holiday each year including Christmas. This position offers a great work-life balance without any need to compromise on cooking with the highest quality ingredients. Gratuities and service charges plus other benefits and rewards are paid in addition to the base salary.

Key responsibilities:
  • The ability to run breakfast, brunch and lunch service unassisted in quieter times whilst adhering to the standards put in place.
  • Being aware of all allergens contained in every food product you create and dish you serve to ensure customer safety and continued staff training of others around you.
  • Being organised and responsible for the weekly staff food proposal by planning 4-5 days ahead and working 1-2 days ahead whilst coming up with new ideas and keeping it fresh.
  • Constantly looking at ways of improving practices throughout the kitchen and food service with research, training and development.
  • Have the ability to conduct a morning briefing and debrief with restaurant staff and Team/Shift Leader and discuss any areas requiring attention for continual development.

We are looking for a passionate chef who enjoys waking up early to join us as soon as possible for a busy summer ahead. Due to our location, having your own mode of transport will be essential for the role. Please be aware we are unable to offer staff accommodation onsite but would be prepared to assist with relocation if needed.
