At The Economist Group (TEG), we champion the power of independent thinking, rigorous analysis and global perspective. Through our brands – The Economist, The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), and Economist Impact – we help leaders and organisations navigate complexity with clarity and confidence.

Our Talent Acquisition (TA) team plays a key role in this mission, attracting exceptional people who share our curiosity, integrity, and commitment to delivering world‑class insight.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Talent Acquisition Business Partner to join our global Talent Acquisition team. This role will focus on delivering high‑impact hiring across our senior sales, commercial, and technology functions. You will act as a trusted talent partner to senior stakeholders, combining data‑led insight with headhunting expertise to identify, engage, and hire exceptional candidates directly into The Economist Group.

This is an opportunity for a skilled recruiter who thrives in an agile environment – someone who enjoys hands‑on sourcing, stakeholder collaboration, and driving a high‑quality candidate experience. You will also be actively involved in driving process improvements and project‑based work related to DE&I, Employer Brand, etc.

Talent Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Partner with senior leaders across EIU, Economist Impact, and Group Technology to shape hiring plans aligned with business goals.
  • Advise on talent market dynamics, salary benchmarking, and hiring best practices.
  • Build trusted relationships with hiring managers, providing consultative guidance throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Influence and educate stakeholders on talent attraction, direct sourcing, and DEI in hiring.

Direct Sourcing & Headhunting

  • Lead on end‑to‑end hiring for senior commercial and technology roles across EMEA and the US.
  • Use creative sourcing strategies – including LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, referrals, and market mapping – to identify passive talent.
  • Act as an ambassador for The Economist Group, promoting our brand and values to external candidates.
  • Maintain a steady pipeline of high‑calibre talent for critical and recurring roles.

Process Excellence & Candidate Experience

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from role briefing to offer stage, ensuring a best‑in‑class experience for every candidate.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to develop clear role briefs, interview scorecards, and selection processes.
  • Champion fair and inclusive hiring practices at every stage.
  • Track and report on key hiring metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with the wider People team on workforce planning, internal mobility, and succession pipelines.
  • Support junior members of the TA team with sourcing, interview training, and stakeholder management where required.
  • Contribute to global TA projects focused on process optimisation, employer branding, and DEI initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5+ years recruitment experience with proven success recruiting senior‑level sales and technology roles, ideally within the media/creative or technology sectors.
  • Experience working in a small high‑performing in‑house recruitment team, comfortable managing multiple priorities autonomously.
  • Strong headhunting and direct sourcing skills, with a track record of engaging senior, passive candidates.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility with executives and hiring managers.
  • Commercially savvy, with an understanding of how talent strategy impacts business performance.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver under pressure.
  • Confident using LinkedIn Recruiter and ATS platforms (Greenhouse experience an advantage).
  • Passionate about delivering an outstanding candidate experience and championing DEI in recruitment.
  • Stakeholder Management & Influencing
  • Headhunting & Direct Sourcing Expertise
  • Strategic Thinking & Commercial Acumen
  • Results Orientation & Accountability
  • Candidate & Client Experience Excellence

This is a hybrid role based in our London office 3+ days a week.
