Overview IAM Analyst role at The Economist. We are an innovative organisation that empowers people to understand and tackle the critical challenges and changes facing the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Access provisioning & support: provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts across applications following established procedures, handling first-level and second-level help desk tickets (forgotten passwords, MFA enrollment, SSO connectivity), ensuring timely processing of Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) requests.
- RBAC and compliance assistance: maintaining RBAC role catalog and access policies, preparing data for periodic User Access Reviews (UARs) and internal/external audits, performing routine checks to ensure access policies consistently applied and least privilege upheld.
- SAM tool support: running reports and extracting data from Flexera or Snow Software to validate software assignments and entitlements against IAM records, supporting configuration and maintenance of user roles and permissions within Snow License Manager or Flexera platform, using SAM data from Snow to support the business in reclaiming unused software access permissions and aligning with access governance goals.
- System maintenance & documentation: monitoring IAM system health and assisting with basic operational troubleshooting under supervision, contributing to creation and upkeep of SOPs and end-user training materials for IAM processes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience/certifications.
- Experience: IT Support, Help Desk, or introductory Security/IAM role.
- Foundational knowledge: basic understanding of access control principles and user identity management within an enterprise environment.
- Technical familiarity: familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, experience working with ticketing system (e.g., Jira), prior exposure to or strong interest in using Software Asset Management tools like Flexera or Snow Software.
- Soft skills: strong attention to detail, organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on experience with Flexera/Snow tools.
- Administering user roles or generating compliance reports.
- Basic knowledge of RBAC concepts.
- Relevant entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-900).
