Help shape the future of AI at ECA International. We are already using AI across software development, data ingestion and delivery, with the governance and guardrails in place to support it safely within an enterprise environment. We are looking for an Engineering Tech Lead - Data & AI to help us scale that capability further.
You will help evolve our existing data platform, built on AWS, Snowflake, S3, Postgres and event-driven services, into an AI-ready foundation that supports new Data Production and Data Discovery experiences across the business. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of data, engineering and AI, helping to build practical solutions that create real value for both our teams and our clients.
You will remain hands-on technically whilst managing and mentoring a small team, helping to drive AI-native ways of working across engineering, product and data. If you're passionate about data, excited by AI and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Working On

- Partnering with Analytics teams to deliver clean, accessible and valuable data
- Managing and mentoring a small Data & AI engineering team
- Driving engineering standards, quality and continuous improvement

Requirements
About You
You will likely have a background in data engineering, platform engineering or modern software development and be excited by the opportunities AI is creating. You will have experience with:

- Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms
- Data orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect or similar
- Amazon S3 and modern data architectures
- Postgres and semi-structured data models
- Event-driven architectures and scalable systems
You will understand how data enters an organisation through APIs, files, partner feeds and external sources, and appreciate the governance, quality and operational challenges that come with each. Most importantly, you will enjoy building, improving and solving problems whilst helping others do the same.
Who We're Looking For
We are not looking for someone with 10 years of AI experience. The reality is, very few people have that. We are looking for someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about AI, actively learning, experimenting and applying it to real-world problems today. Someone who understands both the opportunities and responsibilities that come with bringing AI into an established enterprise environment. You don't need to know everything. We are looking for curiosity, strong technical foundations and a genuine desire to keep learning.
Nice to Have
Experience with:
- Browser automation and web scraping tools such as Playwright or Puppeteer
- RAG evaluation frameworks
- Private or self-hosted AI models
- Working across both cloud-based and private AI environments
