Job Overview: The Earthshot Prize is hiring a Social Media Manager to support the delivery of digital campaigns and marketing activity from September – November 2026. This role will work across all of our owned social media channels, from ideation and asset development, through to publishing, community management and reporting. This position will work within the social and digital team to deliver outstanding content during high profile live events including The Earthshot Prize Awards & Summit, operating across timezones in the UK and India.

We are looking for a freelancer with capacity to work part time 2-3 days/week across September and October, building to a full time 5 days/week cadence in November to support our surge period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working across The Earthshot Prize’s owned social media channels – Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Maintaining our team’s live content calendar.
  • Drafting copy for social posts, tailored to each channel and consistent with Earthshot’s tone of voice.
  • Production of graphic assets (working within prepared templates on Figma).
  • Light-touch optimisation of video assets (clipping, cropping or subtitling on Premiere Pro).
  • Assessing rushes, assets and longer-form edits to make recommendations for channel-first formats and roll out.
  • Scheduling and publishing posts across platforms, working within our approvals process, particularly for content involving high-profile talent and public figures.
  • Providing real-time social coverage during live events (including out-of-hours/evening and weekend work as required).
  • Monitoring performance and reporting on analytics.
  • Running community management with a friendly and authentic tone of voice, and taking responsibility for proactively flagging both real-time issues as well as conversations and trending opportunities that are on brand that are relevant to engage in.
  • Liaising with the wider comms, digital and press teams, and occasionally with external agencies or talent representatives, to ensure alignment across channels.
  • Exercising discretion and good judgement when handling sensitive or reputationally significant content.

Candidate Criteria:

  • Demonstrable experience managing multi-platform social channels, ideally for a brand, campaign, or NGO.
  • Experience working on high-profile campaigns and/or live events, including real-time social publishing.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone of voice across channels.
  • Comfortable exercising discretion when working with high-profile talent or sensitive content.
  • Excellent attention to detail and QA skills to ensure high quality output.
  • Confident working to a live content calendar and tight turnarounds, especially during peak periods.
