We’re looking for an exceptional brand marketing manager who can step into a critical role at the DofE as we embark on an exciting new strategy – World Ready. You’ll spearhead continued growth of one of the UK’s most loved charities, developing a new brand strategy, setting up values-led partnerships, positioning the brand to meet audience needs and wants, and executing integrated campaigns that extend the DofE’s reach, influence and income. You’ll champion the audience in everything we do and be passionate about data driving decisions.

You’ll manage a small team, driving brand marketing activity that delivers against strategic objectives, whilst supporting internal teams; being the brand guardian, shaping propositions and products and delivering creative and impactful marketing strategies to grow targeted participation and fundraising. A key member of the Engagement leadership team, you’ll offer strategic counsel across the charity and be a trusted voice of experience as we continue to build our brand marketing approach.

This is a year’s contract to step into a Senior Brand Marketing Manager role whilst the current manager focuses on a strategic project, starting July/August 2026.

Qualifications

  • We’re looking for an experienced and creative self-starter who knows how to work well in a fast-paced and evolving environment, who can hit the ground running.
  • Experience of leading a marketing team of 2+ people.
  • Excellent knowledge of integrated brand marketing processes including brand management and development.
  • A proven track record crafting and implementing multichannel brand marketing strategies.
  • Experience in developing and managing paid advertising campaigns.
  • Experience across audience research and supporter journeys.
  • Excellent ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of brand marketing KPIs, CRMs and GDPR.

The DofE are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. All successful applicants will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (e.g. DBS/PVG or similar), including references covering any gaps of employment/education, confirm eligibility to work in the UK and complete a health check.

The geographical allowance is based on a member of staff having a home or office-based postcode within 30 miles (as the crow flies) from Charing Cross, WC2N 5HS. The allowance is 7% capped at £4,000 per annum.
