Responsibilities
- Ensure the integrity and efficiency of financial transaction processing and procedures for a defined group of stakeholders (vendors, staff, and volunteers).
- Maintain stewardship of resources, ensuring adherence to policy and procedures while managing the development of finance team processes and people.
- Support identification and management of risk within financial activities.
- Oversee the Payables and Treasury functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of suppliers, staff, and volunteers, and manage cash‑flow to enable liquidity and maximise returns for reinvestment in charitable purposes.
Qualifications
- Proactive and collaborative with strong technical expertise and a people‑centred approach.
- Near‑qualified or finalist accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent experience).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and hands‑on experience with financial transactions, reconciliations, journals and month‑end processes.
- Motivation for delivering an accurate, efficient and continually improving finance service, with robust attention to detail and confidence in supervising control procedures to support strong financial governance.

The geographical allowance is based on a member of staff having a home or office‑based postcode within 30 miles (as the crow flies) from Charing Cross, WC2N 5HS. The allowance is 7% capped at £4,000 per annum.
