Are you an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and compassionate leader committed to delivering exceptional care? We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and forward-thinking Speech and Language Therapist to join our Community Neuro Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will support adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders arising from long-term neurological conditions, providing specialist assessment and evidence-based treatment in outpatient clinics and domiciliary settings. You will offer expert training, guidance, and advice to colleagues, patients, and carers, ensuring knowledge of communication and swallowing disorders is disseminated throughout the team.
As a senior clinician, you will lead and supervise junior staff, participate in service evaluations and audits, and collaborate closely with the inpatient SLT service in Dudley to ensure seamless transitions of care. As an autonomous practitioner, you will manage a complex caseload, taking responsibility for assessments, interventions, and evaluating outcomes. Responsibilities
- Provide effective and efficient speech and language therapy to a caseload of clients with neurological conditions, including those with complex needs, in a variety of settings.
- Conduct assessments and diagnoses, deliver therapy (group and/or individual as appropriate), plan therapy programmes, and manage discharge.
- Lead and supervise junior staff, contribute to service evaluations and audits, and collaborate with the inpatient SLT service in Dudley to ensure seamless transitions of care.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, managing complex caseloads, evaluating outcomes, and providing specialist training and guidance to colleagues, patients, and carers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience as a Speech and Language Therapist with the ability to lead and supervise others.
- Ability to contribute to service development, evaluations, and audits.
- Willingness to work across outpatient clinics and domiciliary settings as part of a multidisciplinary team.
