The post holder will provide day-to-day coordination of all technical aspects of operating the Simulation Centre, including support with the delivery of simulation training and maintenance of equipment and facilities. The role involves working closely with Medical Leads, faculty, course delegates, and other centre-based staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set-up & Operation of Simulation Equipment: Prepare, operate, and maintain high-fidelity manikins, clinical task trainers, AV systems, and supporting IT equipment for simulation sessions.
- Technical Support During Sessions: Provide real-time technical assistance during simulations, including operating manikin software, adjusting physiological parameters, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Scenario Programming & Management: Assist in developing and programming simulation scenarios in coordination with faculty and clinical educators.
- AV Recording & Debrief Support: Operate AV equipment to record sessions for debriefing and manage playback during post-simulation reviews.
- Equipment Maintenance & Inventory Management: Perform routine checks, maintenance, and repairs on simulation equipment; manage inventory, ordering, and safe storage of resources.
- Environment Setup & Reset: Prepare and restore simulated clinical environments (e.g., wards, theatres, emergency settings) to replicate realistic scenarios.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all equipment is used safely and in compliance with infection prevention, manual handling, and data protection protocols.
- Liaison & Coordination: Work closely with educators, clinicians, and learners to support simulation training delivery, including scheduling, setup, and feedback.
- Innovation & Development: Support continuous improvement of simulation services by staying updated with new technologies and contributing to service development projects.
