Responsibilities

  • Provide high standards of cleanliness within the Neonatal Unit, including environmental cleaning as per schedules, audit compliance, and ensuring bed spaces are cleaned each shift and on patient discharge.
  • Ensure safe storage of equipment and consumables, restocking bed spaces as per the set-up guide.
  • Maintain safety and security for patients, staff and visitors, including the use of the patient security tagging system.
  • Maintain and monitor the use of resources to ensure continuous service delivery.
  • Assist in reducing healthcare-associated infections by adhering to Trust infection-prevention policies.
  • Support the achievement and maintenance of high standards of patient care.
  • Work within your own capabilities while supporting the multidisciplinary team and acting in the best interests of patients and families.
  • Provide support during procedures and assist with admissions and discharges, including documentation, observations, and equipment preparation.
  • Prioritise your own workload effectively.
