As part of a collaborative and supportive events team, you'll build on your existing foundation to take increasing ownership, shaping ideas, coordinating stakeholders, managing logistics and ensuring seamless execution, helping to create standout experiences throughout the year while developing into a confident end-to-end Event Producer.
Overview of the roleThe Event Producer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of allocated B2B events within The Drum's marketing and media portfolio. These may include awards programmes, conferences, roundtables, client events and internal company events delivered across the UK, US and APAC. The role involves delivering high-profile events for senior leaders across the global marketing, media and advertising industry.
Combining strong operational delivery with commercial accountability, the position ensures each event meets financial targets and KPIs while maintaining the highest production standards. Working closely with marketing, content, commercial and video teams, the Event Producer plays a key role in creating engaging, high-quality experiences for industry audiences, partners and clients, while contributing to the ongoing evolution of event formats.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role offering the opportunity to take ownership of allocated projects, travel internationally as part of event delivery, and develop expertise across live and hybrid formats.
Key responsibilities- Lead the production of awards, conferences, client, industry, and internal events, including roundtables, webinars, and panel sessions. Responsibilities include securing venues, managing speakers, overseeing content, coordinating assets, booking video producers, and ensuring every event meets the highest standards.
- Manage the end-to-end event process for a portfolio of Drum Awards, including launch, entries, sponsors, judging, nominations, results and ceremony/announcement. Events can be in-person, virtual, or hybrid.
- Organise events to achieve predefined financial targets and KPIs.
- Lead on-site delivery including supplier management, guest liaison, rehearsal management, run-of-show execution and act as main production contact on event day.
- Manage individual event budgets, including cost tracking and work with the Events Director to review financial performance and identify cost efficiencies.
- Work closely with award experts to drive award entries and sell tickets/tables to ensure your events are financially successful.
- Work closely with the marketing team to deliver impactful and effective event promotion.
- Work closely with the content team to recruit high-calibre speakers and judges and manage relationships accordingly.
- Collaborate with the video production team to continually improve the quality of events.
- Provide excellent support and fulfilment for sponsor deliverables, ensuring all contractual elements are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Collaborate with the platforms manager to keep relevant websites up to date.
- Stay informed on other company products, fostering collaboration between the events team and other departments to support their goals.
- Network with guests, judges, speakers, etc., during in-person events, representing the company professionally.
- Conduct post-event analysis & reporting to include post-event debriefs, analysis of KPIs, and recommendations for future improvements.
- Adhere to company processes and systems, including Salesforce, Asana, and Slack.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
- Take on increasing ownership of end-to-end event delivery, including planning, budgets, and stakeholder management.
- Lead events independently while supporting senior team members on larger, more complex projects.
- Build confidence in commercial responsibilities, including forecasting, driving revenue, and managing suppliers.
- Strengthen cross-team collaboration by working closely with marketing, content, commercial, and video teams.
- Develop leadership skills by supporting team members and contributing to team best practices.
- Build a strong portfolio of successful events to support progression toward a Senior Event Producer role.
- 2+ years experience within the industry.
- Strong working knowledge of event production schedules, supplier management and run-of-show planning.
- Demonstrates consistent achievement and surpassing of KPIs and targets.
- An understanding of the marcoms industry is preferable.
- Highly adept at organising and thriving in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
