Senior Finance Manager
Hybrid role: Leicester base
My client is an established global business in the theme park and attractions sector, looking to continue its significant expansion across the UK and European market. This Senior Finance Manager position is therefore a high profile and key appointment, and as well as all the BAU activities requires the successful candidate to grow and then lead the Finance team. Note this role is designed as a succession pathway into a future Head of Finance position.
The role
Reporting to the CFO and with dotted line reporting into the UK MD, the Senior Finance Manager will form a key member of the European Leadership Team and be responsible for leading all aspects of financial management across the UK and European operations. The role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational management, ensuring the business has accurate financial information, robust controls and proactive commercial support to facilitate sustainable growth.
The successful candidate will need to meet all the required on-the-job experience, plus possess the drive, passion and energy to hit the ground running. Vision and appreciation of the bigger picture are also important as the role will be very hands-on in the early days but evolve into a key management role.
Key Responsibilities
ü Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts.
ü Deliver insightful financial analysis, commentary and performance reporting.
ü Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
ü Lead annual budgeting, manage rolling forecasts/long-term financial plans, whilst monitoring cash flow, working capital and liquidity requirements.
ü Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory obligations.
ü Strengthen internal controls, financial policies and governance frameworks.
ü Manage external audit relationships and year-end processes.
ü Develop, coach and mentor finance and support team members.
ü Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting tools and process automation.
ü Champion the use of technology, data analytics and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency and decision-making.
ü Develop meaningful KPI dashboards and management information tools.
ü Provide strategic insight to support long-term organisational objectives.
Experience required
ü ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
ü Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
ü Significant experience within financial leadership or senior management roles.
ü Strong management accounting, financial reporting and business partnering expertise.
ü Proven ability to lead change, improve processes and implement controls.
ü Advanced Excel and finance systems knowledge.
ü Experience of ERP systems and modern reporting technologies.
ü Influential communicator able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
ü Ambitious individual seeking long-term career progression into a Head of Finance position.
