The
Channel and Distribution Manager is primarily responsible for maximising hotel rooms revenue for The Marylebone, The Bloomsbury and The Kensington by ensuring that all distribution channels are effectively managed and performing at their highest potential.
The role focuses on maintaining strong online visibility, optimising inventory management and safeguarding rate parity, while working closely with the wider Commercial Team to ensure that the right channel strategies, systems and tools are in place to support performance across all booking platforms.
The foremost purpose of the position is to ensure the efficient distribution of hotel inventory across all direct and indirect channels.
This includes managing online travel agencies, global distribution systems, brand websites and third party partnerships so that revenue opportunities and market exposure are fully maximised.
The Channel and Distribution Manager is accountable for continuously monitoring channel performance, competitor activity, market trends and pricing parity, ensuring that inventory, availability and rates are always accurate, competitive and strategically positioned to drive sales.
In addition to operational oversight, the Channel and Distribution Manager provides strategic commercial insight and support to the Commercial Team and corporate departments.
This guidance helps optimise channel management, evaluate cost of acquisition and strengthen revenue performance across all market segments.
The role also requires maintaining strong relationships with key partners, overseeing connectivity, rate loading and system integrity, and ensuring that all distribution strategies remain aligned with the broader commercial objectives of the three hotels.
Responsibilities
- Proactively manage hotel inventory and distribution channels to maximise rooms revenue across all properties, including direct and indirect channels, Brand. com, OTA and GDS platforms.
- Work closely with the Commercial and Revenue teams to ensure pricing, restrictions and selling strategies are aligned across all channels and market segments.
- Review and optimise channel mix across all platforms by analysing channel contribution, profitability, acquisition costs, booking trends and Net Rev PAR.
Develop recommendations that maximise sustainable revenue growth, increase direct business and enhance overall commercial performance.
- Monitor channel performance, booking pace, market demand and competitor activity to identify opportunities to maximise revenue and market share.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, citywide demand and key events, adapting channel strategies to maximise performance and commercial results.
- Work with OTA, GDS and distribution partners to maximise visibility, production and commercial opportunities whilst supporting direct business objectives.
- Partner with Marketing to enhance website and booking engine performance, grow direct booking share and deliver commercially focused campaigns that increase direct revenue, improve acquisition efficiency and maximise profitability.
- Monitor and optimise metasearch performance, including Google Hotel Ads and other relevant platforms, maintaining parity, price competitiveness and channel accuracy.
Work closely with Digital Marketing and external partners to maximise visibility, profitability and direct booking contribution.
- Collaborate with the Digital Marketing team and external partners to optimise hotel visibility across emerging search and discovery channels, including AI-powered search platforms, identifying opportunities to increase direct demand, improve discoverability and support commercial objectives.
- Ensure rate parity, inventory accuracy and availability are maintained across all booking platforms, resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Oversee rate loading, channel connectivity and system integrity to ensure accurate distribution and minimise booking errors.
- Own the management, optimisation and development of distribution systems and connectivity platforms, including Opera Cloud, Syn Xis, Duetto, OTA extranets and related technologies, ensuring effective configuration, troubleshooting, connectivity management and ongoing enhancements to support commercial performance and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits of rates, restrictions, availability, content and connectivity across all channels to ensure accuracy and a seamless guest booking experience.
- Develop regular channel performance reporting, providing insight into production, profitability, market share, booking behaviour and future opportunities.
- Review and develop distribution standards, operating procedures and policies in conjunction with the Director of Revenue and Revenue Managers, ensuring consistency across all systems and channels.
- Ensure all product knowledge, promotions, agreements and channel information are maintained and communicated across relevant teams, including accurate reference materials.
- Work closely with Revenue, Sales, Reservations, Marketing and Operations teams to ensure channel strategies support overall commercial objectives.
- Assist with booking or channel-related guest issues where required, ensuring challenges are resolved efficiently and senior management are informed where appropriate.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and respect the confidentiality of all guests, employee and business information.
Skills
- 2+ years' experience in hotel distribution, revenue management, e-commerce, reservations, or commercial operations.
- Strong knowledge of hotel distribution channels, channel strategy, and channel profitability.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to align distribution strategy to business objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify revenue opportunities.
- Proficiency in PMS, Channel Manager, OTA extranets, and distribution systems.
- Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and system integrity.
- Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Multi-property or cluster experience is advantageous.
