We are seeking professionals with experience in areas such as Fundraising, HR, Commissioning, Clinical Practice and PR/Coms to join our Board of Trustees. We support anyone who is struggling with issues relating to grief and/or loss. Trustees are vital to the running of our organisation because you will play a pivotal role in influencing the direction we take, helping to set overall policy, define our goals and evaluate our performance. You will provide the constructive challenge, advice and guidance to our passionate management team that enables us to continue to make sound ethical decisions.
Qualifications
- Willing to actively participate in discussions.
- Experienced in areas such as Fundraising, HR, Commissioning, Clinical Practice and PR/Coms.
- Dedicated to our cause and objectives.
- Willing to understand and accept the legal duties and responsibilities of a trustee.
- Have excellent communication skills and will speak their mind in an appropriate way.
- Able to provide effective support and challenge to the management team and other board members.
- Willing to learn and develop, with an enquiring mind.
- Able to work effectively as a team member and willing to take responsibility for the decisions and actions of the organisation alongside the rest of the Board.

Responsibilities
As a member of our highly motivated and enthusiastic Board of Trustees you will play a key role in influencing the strategic direction of the organisation, setting overall policy, defining goals, and evaluating performance. We currently have a small but committed Board and would like to expand this to include other skills, particularly those outlined in the summary above. You will have an understanding of the impact of grief on people of all ages and will play a proactive role on our Board by attending bi-monthly meetings and engaging with the wider organisation. Funding is always a challenge for our charity, and we would particularly like to hear from anyone who has experience engaging with the public in fundraising, but also anyone who could help us develop our voice in the community so that more people get to hear about us and the amazing work that we do.
