The Foundation

The Dove Foundation for Global Change is an international charity dedicated to advancing access to health, education, economic opportunity, and safety for women and young people around the world.

We believe that meaningful change must happen both from the top down and the bottom up — through policy reform, grassroots action, and international collaboration. Our work spans engaging with governments, multilateral organisations, and industry leaders, while also delivering regionally focused programmes that directly impact communities. Our vision is a world where everyone has the opportunity to live a life of decent quality. To achieve this, we promote the inclusion of women in all policies.

At The Dove Foundation for Global Change, we believe in creating systemic impact that transforms lives — championing equity for women and girls, advancing health and dignity, and ensuring everyone has the chance to live a life of quality.

We’re looking for dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Lawyers to join our Legal Connect Programme, which provides discreet access to legal assistance for women facing domestic abuse or sexual harassment.

Lawyers are at the heart of this work, offering guidance, protection and advocacy that can help survivors understand their rights, access justice, and begin rebuilding their lives with dignity and confidence.

This role is entirely flexible in terms of time commitment. Volunteers may contribute as little as a few hours a month or as much time as they are able to offer, depending on their schedules and capacity.

About the Programme

The Legal Connect Programme is a initiative by The Dove Foundation for Global Change, piloting later this year, that provides discreet and secure access to legal assistance and essential support services for women experiencing domestic abuse or sexual harassment.

By bringing together a network of interpreters, legal professionals, and other frontline partners, the programme ensures that survivors can access help safely, confidentially, and without fear — empowering them to take the first steps toward protection, justice, and recovery.

Role Summary

We are inviting applications from qualified lawyers and legal professionals (both barristers and solicitors) to join our growing network of volunteers supporting the Legal Connect Programme.

Lawyers play an essential role in this work — providing expert legal guidance, helping survivors understand their rights, and ensuring that women can access justice safely and effectively. Your contribution could be the difference between silence and empowerment for a woman seeking safety.

This role is entirely flexible in terms of time commitment. Volunteers may contribute as little as a few hours a month or as much time as they are able to offer, depending on their schedules and capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential legal information and guidance to women referred through the programme.
  • Support caseworkers in assessing survivors needs and making appropriate referrals.
  • Where appropriate, assist with drafting basic legal documents or signposting to relevant services.
  • Participate in occasional briefings and cross-sector meetings with interpreters and partner organisations.
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality and safeguarding standards in all interactions.

Candidate Profile

  • Based in the UK, with reliable internet access and ability to commit to scheduled duty shifts.
  • Qualified solicitor or barrister, or trainee under supervision.
  • Experience or strong interest in family law, domestic abuse, immigration, or human rights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and professionalism.
  • Commitment to supporting women’s safety, dignity, and access to justice.
  • There is no requirement to have provided pro bono representation previously. Specialist training will be provided to help you approach these situations with sensitivity, professionalism, and care.

What We Offer

  • Full training and ongoing supervision.
  • Flexible, remote volunteering within a structured duty schedule.
  • Opportunity to gain experience in case coordination and legal support for survivors.
  • The chance to make a direct, meaningful contribution to improving access to justice for women and girls.
