What you'll do
- Fixed Asset Management: Maintaining the fixed asset register, ensuring adherence to policies related to procurement, safeguarding, and asset disposal.
- Financial Reporting: Performing ROI calculations, preparing quarterly reports, and reconciling stock take results with the general ledger.
- Balance Sheet Oversight: Managing stock control procedures and reconciliation of balance sheet items, including China, Glass, Silver, Food, Beverage, Tobacco, and Consumables.
- Audit Compliance: Ensuring stock controls and asset management practices align with UK GAAP and IFRS, supporting audit requirements.
- Budgeting & Advisory: Providing financial guidance and budgetary advice to internal stakeholders, ensuring best practices are adopted.
- Management Accounts: Ensuring monthly management accounts are prepared according to issued timetables and addressing any discrepancies in financial reporting.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Communicating with departments across the hotel to maintain accurate asset tracking and ensure alignment with financial policies.
What you'll bring
- Strong knowledge of fixed asset management, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
- Experience working with UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
- Proven ability to manage stock control and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with internal stakeholders and ensuring compliance across departments.
- Fluency in English, with the ability to effectively communicate financial insights.
Preferred Skills
- Professional Qualification or Progression: CIMA, ACCA, or ACA (or actively working towards qualification).
- Management Accounting Experience: Previous experience in preparing and reviewing management accounts.
- Luxury Hospitality Experience: Experience working in a 5-star hotel environment, particularly under strict financial reporting deadlines.
