The Door and Window Centre Ltd was formed in February of 1989 by two Brother-in-laws with in excess of 35 years of experience within the business. The Door and Windows Centre Ltd has developed and grown, whilst still remaining a family run business with family morals at its core. Our business is based on recommendation alone, and as such we do not employ high pressure sales staff or advertise other than in the local business and telephone directories. Owing to a retirement, we are looking for a new part time office secretary after 22 years of service.
The job would be three days a week (Friday essential, the other two days negotiable) from 10am to 4.30pm. Salary £17,000.00 / £20,000.00 P/A depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Organise & schedule appointments, liaise with customers keeping them updated where required
- Manage staff calendars and schedule appointments as necessary
- Answer phone calls & respond to email questions and requests in a timely manner
- Scan, photocopy and file documents as needed
- Maintain customer files, ensuring customer information is up to date on a database, Microsoft Excel and Word
- Complete insurance backed guarantee certification for completed installs FENSA
- Chase overdue payments and send statements when required
- Support the sales and fitting team with administrative tasks
- Liaise with suppliers when required
- Raise invoices via QuickBooks software
- Basic finance duties using QuickBooks (training can be provided)
- Ensuring the office runs smoothly & efficiently
- Other general administrative duties
- Excellent communication and numeracy skills
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks or similar online software, preferred (training can be provided)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc)
- Strong organisational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Excellent customer service skills
- Previous work experience in a similar role
- A willingness to learn
- A confidence to add ideas to help the company evolve
