As Programmes and Partnerships Coordinator for Zimbabwe, you will work alongside the Regional Programmes and Partnerships Advisor – Africa to ensure the internal capacities, competencies and resources are in place to deliver The Donkey Sanctuary’s strategy in Zimbabwe. The role will support relationship management with strategic partners, manage the project cycle and help expand programmatic work across the region.

Salary: £31,425 per annum (UK basis).

Location: Sidmouth, United Kingdom (may also be based in Ethiopia or Kenya if the candidate can legally work there).

Contract: Fixed Term, full time, until 30 November 2027, 35 hours per week, 8:30‑16:30 Monday‑Friday. Hybrid working (1‑2 days onsite per month).

About You:

  • Significant Zimbabwean experience in a sector adjacent to animal welfare, international development or a related field.
  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable project/programme cycle management experience, ideally in animal welfare or international development.
  • Experience with project monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Experience communicating internationally and building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Competent IT skills, including MS Office.
  • Fluent in English.

About the Role:

  • Support programme cycle management for funded partnerships in Zimbabwe, including processing funding applications, arranging project grants, maintaining partnership relationships, reporting and learning.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures, particularly partner due diligence.
  • Help maintain capacities, competencies and resources needed to deliver The Donkey Sanctuary’s strategies in Zimbabwe.
  • Coordinate Zimbabwe projects and programmes, ensuring appropriate monitoring and evaluation.
  • Liaise with partners and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and ensure smooth communication.
  • Support the collation of context analysis, data, case studies and photographs to enhance our communication and knowledge management.
