The center will offer a wide range of activities, from creative arts and sports to skills development and mentoring. Role Description

The Facilities Lead is a full-time, hybrid role based in Crewe, with some flexibility to work from home for planning, administration, and reporting tasks. On a day-to-day basis, this role oversees the smooth running, safety, and presentation of the building, including daily inspections, managing maintenance schedules, and coordinating repairs with contractors and suppliers. The Facilities Lead will manage facilities‑related budgets, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role includes supervising facilities and cleaning staff, supporting their training and development, and liaising with youth work and program teams to ensure spaces are set up appropriately for activities. The Facilities Lead will also contribute to opening preparations for 2026 and support the continuous improvement of facilities processes once the Youth Zone is fully operational.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Facility Management (FM), including building operations, maintenance coordination, and health and safety compliance.
  • Ability to design and deliver Training for facilities, health and safety procedures, and safe use of equipment to staff and volunteers.
  • Solid Administration skills, including record-keeping, scheduling, vendor management, and budget tracking.
  • Familiarity with Construction, building systems, and refurbishment or fit‑out projects, ideally in community, education, or leisure settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, planning, and documentation.
  • Experience supervising or leading teams within a facilities or operations environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond calmly to urgent building or safety issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, colleagues, contractors, and external partners.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces for young people.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or certification in facilities management, health and safety, or a related field is desirable.
