About the Role
We are looking for a strong Assistant Manager to join the team at The Dog & Fox – someone who is ready to take the next step in their career and is serious about becoming a General Manager. This is a complex, high‑performing site with multiple revenue streams: a busy pub, the Coach House wedding venue, private dining in the Library, and 25 boutique bedrooms. It requires someone who can think commercially, lead from the front, and adapt across different parts of the business. You will work closely with the General Manager to run the day‑to‑day operation, taking responsibility for standards, team performance, and guest experience across all areas of the business. This is a hands‑on leadership role. You will be expected to take ownership, make decisions, and play a key part in driving the business forward.
Responsibilities
- Leading and managing day‑to‑day operations across the pub, hotel rooms, and private dining.
- Ensuring consistent, high standards across the site.
- Supporting the delivery of weddings and private events.
- Developing and supporting the team.
- Taking ownership of specific areas of the business and acting as a strong number two to the General Manager.
- Progressing into a General Manager role over time.
