About the Position and You:

We are seeking a registered nurse to lead the nursing team at The Doctors Onehunga and The Doctors Mt Roskill, focusing on clinical excellence and innovative approaches in primary care. If you are ready to step up into a leadership role or already an experienced nurse manager, this is the role for you. Mentoring and support will be available for the right candidate. This is a permanent full‑time position working 40 hours across Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse nursing team (Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses, Practice Care Assistants) for safe, high‑quality, and efficient patient care.
  • Manage recruitment, daily operations, collaborate with centre leadership, and develop care models for improved health outcomes and medical centre efficiency.
  • Balance administrative duties with clinical responsibilities within the role.
  • Must be an experienced nurse with in‑depth knowledge of clinical practices, including urgent care and general practice.
  • Role covers UC audits, standards policies, GP Foundation and Cornerstone for CQI as well as preferable extensive experience with NETP and perceptorship.

  • A current New Zealand practising certificate and current CPR certificate
  • Leadership and management aspirations
  • Your practice aligns with the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
  • Clinical experience and passion for primary care and primary care nursing
  • Proven quality improvement experience
  • Postgraduate qualification is highly desirable
  • Great communication skills at all levels
  • Advanced computer skills
