The Disability Resource Centre is an award‑winning, user‑led charity that supports disabled people, individuals with long‑term health conditions, and their carers across Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, and surrounding areas. Established in 1994, the organisation places people with lived experience of disability at the centre of its decision‑making to ensure services are relevant and responsive. It provides confidential advice, welfare benefits support, guidance on disability equipment, direct payments support, training, employment assistance, and mental health and wellbeing programs. The charity also offers targeted support for carers through its Carers Central service and works closely with local authorities, the NHS, and community partners. As a Disability Confident Leader, The Disability Resource Centre promotes an inclusive, accessible, and supportive environment for everyone involved.

As a Wellbeing Hub Volunteer, you will support the delivery of wellbeing activities and services that help disabled people, those with long‑term health conditions, and carers to improve their quality of life. This role is for a Monday between 10am‑1pm. It is an on‑site role based in Dunstable. You will work closely with staff and other volunteers to prepare materials, set up and tidy away rooms, and gather feedback from participants. The role may also include housekeeping duties such as loading the dishwasher, making drinks or preparing food.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen sensitively and interact with people from diverse backgrounds.
