We share our Executive Headteacher, SENCo, Business Manager and Environmental Tutor (Gardening and Forest Schools Teacher). We work together as one to deliver a creative curriculum that inspires our pupils to ‘follow their pathways and grow with confidence’. Both schools received a ‘Good’ Ofsted Inspection in 2022; Bugthorpe received a very positive SIAMS inspection report in November 2023.
Our Federation:
- Follow a shared curriculum;
- Have staff meetings together on Microsoft Teams, to share planning, resources and best practice;
- Work in Subject Leadership Teams together across the Federation;
- Share a school minibus which we utilise for educational visits, and to visit each other’s class in the sister school;
- Share policies and procedures.
All of this collaborative work enables both pupils and adults to flourish in our small, rural schools.
Our Class system: Class 1 (Nursery and Reception); Class 2 (Years 1 and 2); Class 3 (Years 3 and 4) and Class 4 (Years 5 and 6). This job is to be the Class Teacher in our Year 5 and 6 classroom.
