Do you have a heart for the vulnerable, a passion for sharing the love of Jesus, and a desire to see lives transformed? St Gabriel’s Cricklewood, in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP), is looking for a dedicated CAP Debt Coach to help set local communities free from the burden of debt and poverty. Serving communities across NW2, NW6, and NW10, you’ll work directly with clients through home visits, deliver money coaching, and raise up a local volunteer team to offer practical, life-changing support and hope.
The Role At A Glance:
- Position: CAP Debt Coach (Part-Time, 20 hours/week – 50% FTE)
- Location: Based at St Gabriel’s Church, London NW2, serving client homes across NW2, NW6 & NW10.

- UK Driving licence & access to a car for visits

- A practising Christian (Genuine Occupational Requirement)

Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out the role of Debt Coach as outlined by Christians Against Poverty (CAP), in support of FCA-regulated debt casework.
- Visiting clients or hosting meetings and managing their own caseload effectively.
- Leading and delivering regular Money Coaching sessions.
- Leading and delivering regular Money Guidance sessions, currently in development.
- Participating in and collaborating on community activities and events that promote the work of the debt centre.
- Working alongside and raising up volunteers (including befrienders, money coaches, prayer partners, advocates and CAP Angels).
- Attending regular staff meetings to feed into the wider objectives of St Gabriel’s (and partner churches, as applicable).
Required:
- Passion for the poor and evangelism
- Ability to communicate well to people from all kinds of different situations, particularly those that find themselves on the fringes of society
- Ability to work well in a team
- Computer literacy skills, e.g. Microsoft Office package or Google equivalent, and adoption of role‑specific systems
- Driving licence and access to a car for client and other visits across the debt zone.
