The Guildford Diocesan Board of Finance (GDBF) is seeking up to two external volunteer members to join its newly established Risk Committee—a key group supporting effective governance, oversight, and risk management across the organisation. As a Committee Member, you’ll use your professional experience to help ensure that risks are identified, monitored, and managed in alignment with the GDBF's mission and values. You’ll contribute to high level discussions, provide constructive challenge, and support a strong culture of accountability and good governance.
What we’re looking for:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to analyse complex information
- Confidence in offering constructive challenge and independent judgement
- Commitment to reading papers and attending quarterly daytime meetings
- Experience in risk, governance, finance, operations, or senior leadership (desirable)
- Knowledge of charity governance or Church of England structures (helpful but not essential)
