With a complex, multi-entity structure and operations across several jurisdictions, the business requires a highly capable senior finance leader to oversee group accountancy, strengthen controls, and support future expansion. The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Head of Accountancy to take ownership of all accounting operations across the group. The role will lead financial accounting, regulatory reporting, audit, financial controls and month-end processes, ensuring strong governance across all global entities. You will work closely with the CFO, senior finance leadership and cross-functional teams to support strategic planning, business growth, and continued compliance across multiple regulatory frameworks. This position requires a hands-on, detail-focused leader with experience in high-growth, fast-moving financial services or technology environments.
Job Function
- Oversee all accounting operations across multiple global entities, including month-end, year-end, closing, consolidation and statutory reporting.
- Lead the development and implementation of financial controls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and operational efficiency.
- Manage external audits, working proactively with auditors to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Produce high-quality financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP and relevant local regulations across various jurisdictions.
- Oversee tax planning, VAT, corporate tax and compliance obligations, partnering with external advisors where necessary.
- Develop robust accounting policies, processes and governance frameworks to support global scalability.
- Manage treasury accounting, cashflow reconciliation and balance sheet integrity across multiple accounts and currencies.
- Work closely with FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling.
- Partner with legal, compliance, product and operations teams to ensure accounting outputs reflect business change, new products and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, mentor and develop a growing team of finance professionals, ensuring capability, accuracy and strong performance.
- Support finance technology improvements, including system optimisation, automation and integration projects.
- Provide clear, actionable insight and reporting to senior stakeholders and the board.
Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 8+ years’ post-qualified experience.
- Proven experience operating at senior level in a multi-entity, international organisation, ideally within fintech, financial services or a regulated technology environment.
- Strong technical accounting background with expertise in IFRS, consolidations, audits and statutory reporting.
- Experience managing complex financial operations across EMEA/APAC or other multi-jurisdictional landscapes.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong controls frameworks in fast-paced, scaling businesses.
- Comfortable working in high-growth environments with evolving product sets and regulatory implications.
- Excellent stakeholder management, able to communicate clearly with senior leaders, auditors and regulatory counterparts.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Strong systems knowledge with exposure to modern accounting tools and finance automation.
