Currys are seeking an experienced Product Information Management (PIM) Lead Delivery Manager with a strong background in retail and comprehensive experience in managing RFI (Request for Information) and RFP (Request for Proposal) processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering a PIM solution, collaborating with stakeholders, managing financial aspects of the solution, and understanding the full scope of the project, from requirements gathering to post‑implementation.

Role overview

  • Establish and lead a strong project governance approach and mobilise the appropriate resources to set up the project for success, including the necessary OKRs.
  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of RFI and RFP processes, including the creation of documentation, evaluation of vendor responses, and working with internal teams to make recommendations for PIM solution vendors based on business needs.
  • Engage with cross‑functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for the PIM solution.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of a Product Information Management solution that integrates with existing retail systems.
  • Oversee detailed business analysis to capture the complete scope of product information management needs and challenges.
  • Coordinate, evaluate and recommend PIM vendors that meet the company’s requirements.
  • Manage the financial aspects of PIM solution delivery, including budgeting, cost estimation, forecasting, and ensuring projects deliver within budget and timeline.
  • Work closely with technical teams to ensure the chosen solution integrates seamlessly with the organization’s existing technology ecosystem, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across all channels.
  • Oversee testing across the project.
  • Manage user acceptance testing (UAT) and work with the Business, change management and QA teams to ensure the solution meets all business requirements and performs as expected.
  • Work with and oversee business change management activities including training and guidance to end‑users and stakeholders to ensure successful adoption and use of the PIM solution.
  • Ensure the solution is handed over into IT Service operations and ensure a suitable framework is established to assure performance of the PIM system post‑implementation.
  • Perform project closure and benefits realisation analysis to ensure the project delivered against the original business case, capturing lessons learned and feedback into both the Business and technology leadership teams.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience of implementing a PIM preferably in a retail environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and governing large scale and complex digital transformation projects, with high visibility and c‑suite engagement.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple work streams, resources, dependencies, risks, and issues to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, communication, risks and proactively resolve any issues or conflicts that arise.
  • Ensure project dependencies, interdependencies, and integration points are identified and managed.
  • Strong understanding of the RFI/RFP process, including drafting documents, evaluating vendors, and negotiating contracts.
  • Experience managing multi‑stakeholder projects, including working with business leaders, technical teams, and third‑party vendors.
  • Solid experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control in IT or Retail technology projects.
  • Strong understanding of how PIM systems integrate with eCommerce platforms, ERP systems, and other digital channels.

Desired Experience

  • Experience working with PIM vendors like Informatica, Akeneo, Salsify, Stibo Systems, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of key retail business processes (e.g., omnichannel retail, inventory management, product lifecycle management).
  • Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
