The successful candidate will take on an exciting role in the fast-developing area of digitisation and preservation, supporting the delivery of the Library’s ambitious new digitisation vision.
The Digitisation Coordinator will manage our small Digitisation Studio, where we carry out in-house digitisation work, and will line manage the Digitisation Officer. They will also coordinate work related to our publisher, internal and grant-funded digitisation projects. Additionally, working with the Metadata & Discovery Manager and other SHL colleagues, they will contribute to the implementation of new workflows and procedures which maximise the online visibility of our unique special collections.
The successful candidate requires an understanding of current and emerging digital preservation strategies, and the ways metadata is used to link digital resources to their physical copies on a catalogue.
An enquiring mind, with an ability to problem-solve while working effectively with all levels of staff is essential.
