Who are we?

We're tda!, a brilliant digital creative agency based in Edinburgh. We help ambitious brands succeed in the digital age by creating standout brands, beautiful websites, engaging social content, and digital experiences that people actually remember.

No two days are the same here. One morning you could be creating social content for a national campaign, by lunch you're helping shape a new brand identity, and by the afternoon you're designing for a website launch. If you love variety, creativity and learning something new every day, you'll fit right in.

Who are we looking for?

A curious, creative, design-obsessed junior who wants to make brilliant work. Maybe you've just graduated. Maybe you've already spent a year or two building your skills. Either way, you're hungry to learn, excited by digital, and love the challenge of solving problems through design. You're just as happy creating a social post as you are exploring a new brand direction or designing a web interface. Most importantly, you bring ideas, ask questions, and never stop learning.

About the Role

We're looking for a talented and driven junior designer to join our creative team. This is a broad design role covering graphic design, social media, web, brand, and print - but social is where you'll spend most of your time, so a genuine feel for content culture and what performs on platform is essential.

Whether you're a recent graduate or early in your career, you'll get hands-on experience across a range of disciplines from day one. You'll be working on real client projects, moving quickly, and developing your skills across the full design mix. We work with a large range of clients and no day is the same at tda!, so this is an excellent opportunity to jump head first into the world of design.

What you'll be doing:

  • Scroll-stopping content: Create content that captures users' attention and helps our clients stand out. Design various formats of social posts for platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook. Produce motion graphics, animated content and short-form video assets using After Effects and Premiere Pro. Develop visual concepts and moodboards for social campaigns. Adapt designs across multiple formats and sizes - feed, stories, reels, display ads. Stay on top of social trends, design styles, and what's performing across platforms.
  • Graphic design: Creative thinking and understanding of colour theory, typography and layouts. Produce high quality visual assets for use across digital and print channels. Contribute to creative sessions and help develop concepts from brief to execution.
  • Bring brands to life: Assist in the development of brand identities, including logos, colour palettes, and typography. Apply brand guidelines consistently across a range of creative outputs. Create presentations and brand documents. Communicate design decisions to clients and the internal team. Support the wider design team with website layouts, UI components and digital assets using Figma, working closely with our developers to bring ideas to life. Contribute to design systems, style guides, and component libraries. Create visual assets, illustrations, and graphics for web use.
  • Think beyond the screen: Produce print-ready artwork for brochures, leaflets, signage, and other collateral as required. Work within supplied templates or build new layouts from scratch. Ensure files are correctly set up for print production.
  • Never stop exploring: Contribute ideas in creative workshops, experiment with new techniques, keep up with design and social trends, and help us stay one step ahead.

Requirements:

  • Creative tools: Figma, Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar timeline-based video editing software), Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop.
  • Skills and attributes: A strong portfolio demonstrating design ability - social media work is particularly relevant, but we want to see the breadth of what you can do. Creative thinking with a good understanding of colour theory, typography, and layout. A genuine interest in social media, content trends, and visual storytelling. Good communication skills and the ability to take and act on feedback. Strong teamwork skills and ability to work collaboratively on projects. Comfortable working at pace across multiple projects simultaneously. Work to fast turnaround times while maintaining quality. Not necessary but desirable: Adobe InDesign for print and document layout. An understanding of web design principles and working with developers. Experience working within brand guidelines across multiple channels.

About you:

What we're looking for: We're not looking for someone who only knows one discipline. The ideal candidate is comfortable switching between projects as needed - from a social post to a new logo refresh for a brand. We’re a small agency and as such the variety and co-working on projects is constant. You'll have a strong visual eye, a good sense of pace, and most importantly curiosity and drive to keep developing your skills across the board. Your portfolio doesn't need to be polished to perfection - we want to see how you think. That might include student projects, personal work, spec campaigns, or freelance jobs. Show us what you're capable of and where your interests lie.
