We are looking to recruit Registered or student Band 5 Staff Nurses to join the enthusiastic team on the Acute Medical Unit.

Job Summary: Be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care; supervise junior staff and to participate in the teaching of students on both basic and post basic courses; maintain your personal and professional development; participate in effective utilisation of resources; act in accordance with the NMC Professional Code of Conduct.

Main duties of the job:

  • Act as the team leader for a group of patients.
  • Participate in the supervision for junior nurses and unregistered staff.
  • Report all accidents/untoward incidents and ensure relevant documentation is completed.
  • Undertake delegated responsibilities from the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
  • Develop an awareness of the cost implications and exercise economy when using or ordering medical supplies.
  • Participate in the investigation of complaints and incidents.
  • Participate in the promotion of safety, well‐being and interests of the patients, staff and all visitors to the clinical area.
  • Participate in the appraisal system.
