Job summary

Epsom and St Helier hospitals are looking for a Locum Diabetes and Endocrinology Consultant to join the department for 1 year. The post holder will provide specialist care to patients, and we are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and patient care-focused doctor. Working within the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will play a key role for both patients and health care professionals. The post will provide broad exposure in general medicine, diabetes, and endocrinology. The post holder will need to demonstrate safe use of equipment and efficiency in using the resources available. The post holder will be responsible for acting in accordance with local policies and procedures agreed by the Trust.

Main duties of the job

This is a new Consultant post in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and General Medicine. The post is full-time, including 1 PA for General Medicine on-call. A key role for the appointee will be to lead the provision of excellent care for people with diabetes in the hospital by delivering daily in-patient diabetes reviews and working closely with the Diabetes Inpatient Specialist nurses and the Podiatry team.
