Applications are invited for the London Diabetes Centre London and Birmingham branches. We are recruiting senior Adult, Paediatric or Dual Trained DSN’s for part-time, face-to-face and remote sessions on a bank basis. The London Diabetes Centre cares for diabetes patients of all ages, from all over the world, and every walk of life.

We offer cutting-edge expertise in every aspect of diabetes care led by consultant diabetologists working alongside DSN’s, Dietitians and Psychologists in a genuinely “joined-up” way providing clinical education and support for adult and paediatric patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Successful applicants must have proven experience working as senior experienced diabetes specialist nurses with clinical skills including:

  • Advanced diabetes care
  • Paediatric and adult pump starts
  • Remote care and support

Flexibility to work on site at our London or Birmingham branches, to work remotely and willingness to be part of the out of hours remote support rota is essential. This role will offer opportunities to expand your skills with access to the latest technologies on the market and working with a team of consultants who lead the field.

Must be able to demonstrate effective management of all aspects of type 1 and type 2 diabetes in a private outpatient clinic setting. Must have substantial and current clinical experience within the speciality of advanced diabetes care including the use of insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.

Must liaise with and be part of the consultant-led multidisciplinary team to provide a high-quality seamless service. They must be able to participate in the team development of patient education. Must ensure all care is given according to agreed consultant-led protocols. Must maintain meticulous contemporaneous and accurate treatment records. Must participate in clinical audit and ensure patient experience surveys are completed.

Must be able to provide telephone and email support, review pump and CGM downloads, monitor and review interventions, provide education and training to adults, children, young people, families, carers, medical and nursing staff. Be proficient in the use of Libre, Dexcom, Diasend, Glooko, Medtronic, Tandem T slim, Omnipod, Dana and CamAPS.

Participate in the development of evidence-based standards, policies and guidelines as well as research and audit activities.
