Roles: 1 x coach to work across the Digital, Multi-channel Marketing, Business Growth and AI department; 1 x coach to work across the Data, Software Development and AI department.

Line Manager: Academic Delivery Manager

Hours and Location: This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), hybrid role, with flexibility for remote work.

Salary: £30,000 - £42,000 depending on skills and experience.

Overview of Role: Sharing ‘just in time’ technical expertise to enhance learner contributions within their employment roles via work-based learning. We are currently recruiting for a Skills and Knowledge Coach to join our Delivery team, working with employer organisations and their learners to deliver coaching sessions and training programmes, supporting learners to acquire and apply both skills and knowledge to positively impact their workplace and future careers. The post-holder must have at least a degree-level qualification or higher themselves.

PURPOSE: The TDM SKC is dedicated to continuous professional development in technology and digital fields and demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting employer organisations and their employees in pursuing similar growth. The purpose of this role is to coach a caseload of learners and their mentors, following TDM’s curriculum intent and approach, to maximise timely achievement, the acquisition of both skills and knowledge and the application of these for positive impact in the workplace.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be employer responsive – working with employer partners to develop and maintain relationships, assisting in employer impact / digital transformation through the development of the skills and knowledge of their learners in the area of data and systems development.
  • Engage employers to assess talent needs and support TDM's recruitment, retention, and reskilling strategies.
  • Advise employers on workforce planning and help initiate Degree Apprenticeship, Apprenticeship or Skills Bootcamp programmes with employer partners.
  • Plan, assess, teach, and align individual learning plans (PATA/GROW) through tripartite coaching sessions with workplace mentors, adapting the learning plans to suit workplace requirements and programme objectives.
  • Proactively progress learning and facilitate formative and summative assessment of learners’ SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE via a range of methods.
  • Engage with learners to improve their maths skills and collaborate with Performance and Development Coaches for the development of the whole person education approach.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the programmes you coach and train on.
  • Develop and deliver classroom-based training aligned with the relevant programmes, in both virtual and physical settings.
  • Deliver a quality blended learning experience through Totara (Moodle) and Mahara, adhering to TDM’s procedures and systems and actively participating in continuous improvement.
  • Deliver coaching/training sessions flexibly across different programmes and standards and maintain up to date knowledge of the end point assessment criteria.
  • Adapt to different learning styles and needs of learners, developing and managing learner action plans with colleagues, providing additional support as necessary.
  • Accurately document the learner journey through consistent and detailed report writing, using TDM systems.
  • Assess learners according to the RBSG (red, bronze, silver, gold) criteria, focusing on programme success rather than individual performance.
  • Ensure quality and precision in all required documentation.
  • Understand, apply and ensure Ofsted agendas within area of responsibility.
  • Engage with and support the compliance, quality and customer experience processes and procedures.
  • Any other duties as directed by your line manager and/or a Director.
  • Ensure compliance with all TDM policies, procedures and legal responsibilities, including safeguarding, ISO9001, Confidentiality, Data Protection and Cyber Essentials.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Educated to Degree or equivalent in a relevant IT or technical-related subject.
  • Experience working with technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure, GitHub, Python (for Data, Software Development and AI Coach role).
  • English and Maths at Level 2+ (i.e. GCSE grade C/4+).
  • Successful work experience within the technical field(s) which you will coach and train for at TDM.
  • A clear narrative around your natural hunger for continuous learning and development within the technical field(s).
  • Well-rounded knowledge of a broad range of the fundamentals of tech and digital.
  • A passion for working with and fostering relationships with learners and their employers.
  • Strong project management and organisation skills.
  • Good writing, self-organisation and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing legislation and use a variety of continuously evolving systems and processes.
  • Willingness to travel as required to teach or coach on site.

Preferred:

  • Instructional Design / VLE Skills.
  • A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
