DCO is working with one of our clients to find a general practice Accounts Manager/Partner designate to join a reputable firm of Chartered Accountants and registered Auditors based in West Wales. Our client is a registered training office for the ICAEW. The firm supports a diverse client base across a wide range of industries, delivering services including accounts, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, VAT and management accounts, alongside more specialist advisory work.
The firm is looking for an experienced Manager (or Director designate) to join them with potential to become a Director in the future. There are clear and realistic progression prospects on offer as part of a succession plan. You will initially join at Manager or Senior Manager level with a clear plan in place based on your experience and aspirations. This is an appointment for an individual working in full-time employment in the firm’s offices.
As part of this position, you will work closely with the Directors and be responsible for your own personal portfolio and a small team. Your work will focus on general practice accounts & tax services to a range of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, predominantly focused on owner-managed businesses with turnovers typically below £1m, but there will also be exposure to larger businesses and audit work.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own client portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Overseeing and reviewing production of company accounts, financial statements, corporation tax and personal tax work prepared by junior staff.
- Remaining hands-on across accounts and tax where required.
- Acting as the main point of contact for your clients.
- Identifying advisory opportunities and supporting client growth.
- Mentoring, supervising and developing junior team members and assisting in the ongoing training requirements of the staff.
- Building strong relationships across all teams and managers.
- Liaising regularly with clients to ensure and build strong and trusted relationships.
- Ensuring timely and efficient delivery of the services.
- Working with the other directors to ensure the smooth running of the business.
Requirements:
- Preferably qualified ACA/FCA.
- 9+ years experience within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts and tax returns.
- Experience of Sage, QuickBooks, & Xero.
Benefits: £45,000 - £60,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.
