About The Role:
As a Commis Chef, you will undertake a high standard of food preparation work and basic cooking under the supervision of a Chef de Partie or section chef, rotating through sections such as sauce, vegetables, fish and butchery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cook any foods as required on a daily basis, assuring that all orders are completed accurately and promptly, according to business requirements in the most professional, efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Ensure that standards are maintained with regard to presentation of food items, in line with the business image.
- Prepare the mise-en-place for the shift, advising the Sous Chef/Head chef of any stock shortages or requirements.
- Conduct, record and monitor temperature level readings for all the fridges twice daily, as stipulated in the Food Safety (Temperature Control) Regulations 1995, and Food Safety Act 1990.
- Maintain cleanliness standards in the kitchen, fridges and freezers and adhere to safe storage procedures.
- Operate at all times within the legislative confines of the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
