The Impact You Will Have In This Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Director, Lead AI Governance to establish and oversee the governance framework that ensures the safe, responsible, and scalable adoption of artificial intelligence across the organization. In this role, you will define the policies, standards, and oversight mechanisms required to manage AI risks while enabling innovation and responsible experimentation. You will work closely with technology leadership, model risk management, data governance, and product teams to ensure AI systems align with regulatory expectations, enterprise risk frameworks, and industry best practices. The role will also help shape how AI capabilities are deployed across the organization by developing practical governance approaches that balance oversight with the need for rapid innovation.
Your Primary Responsibilities
- AI Governance Strategy & Framework Development — Ability to define enterprise governance frameworks that guide the responsible development, deployment, and monitoring of AI systems across the organization.
- Model Risk & Responsible AI Oversight — Experience designing governance structures that align AI development with model risk management, fairness, transparency, and accountability principles.
- AI Risk Assessment & Control Design — Strong ability to evaluate AI systems and define appropriate controls related to data usage, model behavior, monitoring, and operational risks.
- Regulatory & Compliance Alignment — Understanding of emerging regulatory expectations related to AI, including frameworks governing transparency, accountability, and safe deployment of advanced AI technologies.
- AI Lifecycle Governance — Ability to establish governance processes that oversee the entire AI lifecycle, including experimentation, development, deployment, monitoring, and retirement.
- Cross-Functional Risk Collaboration — Experience working with technology, legal, compliance, data governance, and model risk teams to ensure AI initiatives align with enterprise risk management practices.
- Enterprise AI Adoption Enablement — Ability to design governance processes that support responsible scaling of AI capabilities while minimizing unnecessary barriers to innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in appropriate field of study
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in technology governance, model risk management, data governance, AI risk management, or related leadership roles.
